A New Chapter for Royal Oaks

The Royal Oaks community is surrounded by panoramic views of the Great Smoky Mountains and the Cumberlands. Formerly a golf course community, The Royal Oaks Conservancy will conserve and transform the Royal Oaks Golf Course into recreational space and wildlife habitat for the enjoyment of the Royal Oaks Community and our Blount County neighbors.

In November 2018, we officially filed Articles of Incorporation to establish the Royal Oaks Conservancy.

Lying in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, many people move to this area to be nearer to nature, yet few have access that doesn’t require travel via car. 28% of Maryville residents live within a 10 minute walk of a park compared to the national average of 54%.

According to the Trust for Public Land, the City of Maryville has a total of 6 parks comprising under 100 acres.

At approximately 120 acres, the Royal Oaks Conservancy has an opportunity to more than double the available park space in our town.

Over the coming weeks, we will be finalizing the conservancy and releasing more information to get the community involved. At this early phase, we hope you will join us in one or more of the following ways:

  • Like and share our new Facebook page.

  • Volunteer. We need photographers, videographers, grant writers and much more. Please reach out to us and tell us how you would like to help.

  • Help us recruit board members or consider joining yourself.

  • Finally, we are almost ready to fundraise and we need the support of everyone to help create the next chapter in the story of our community.

We eagerly look forward to partnering with you to introduce the next chapter for the Royal Oaks community.
